Study Visit on Myanmar ICT Master Plan Development
"Promoting the economic
growth of developing countries and accelerating regional economic integration"
The working-level study visit course for the Myanmar ICT Development Master
Plan Project is conducted at KISDI (President John. H. Lee) from Jan. 9 to Feb.

The course began on Jun. 11 with the welcoming address of KISDI President
Lee in participation of Dr. Kang In-soo, senior researcher at KISDI and the seventeen
members of e-National Task Force including public officials of the Myanmar's
government.

A working-level course for Myanmar Master Plan Development is conducted
at KISDI for a month. |
The Myanmar ICT Development Master Plan Project sponsored by KOICA
and carried out by KISDI is designed to help promote ICT development in Myanmar
by working out the ICT development master plan and detailed action plans. The
Project is aimed to develop the Myanmar's economy and ultimately establish the
Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI), thereby contributing to bridging the
development gap among nations and accelerating regional economic integration.
This working-level course was prepared as a follow-up step for the Program organized
last October for the purpose of enhancing the awareness of Myanmar's high-ranking
policymakers about the ICT Master Plan.

KISDI President Lee is delivering his welcoming address to participants
in the study visit on Myanmar ICT Master Plan Development.

This course will be an opportunity for Myanmar's working-level officials
to learn Korea's know-how in developing ICT policies and the legal framework.
KISDI is planning to provide full support for the course in order for participants
to effectively implement an ICT Master Plan campaign in Myanmar.
The four-week long course will include: 1) detailed subjects of the Master Plan
including e-government, e-commerce, ICT HRD, IT industry, a policy for the knowledge-based
society, and standardization, 2) ICT infrastructure, industry, laws and institutions,
Application, and 3) a field trip to ICT industrial facilities.
