The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kwon Ho-yeol) held the “2nd KISDI Open Academy in 2020” in the conference hall on the 2nd floor of the KISDI building on July 20.
The KISDI Open Academy was founded as a forum in which to discuss the achievements and major agendas of the “Research Administration Advancement Project” led by Ha Yeon-sik, head of the Research Administration Advancement Promotion Division of the National Research Council of Science & Technology.
First, the synergy effect derived from openness and cooperation among state-funded research institutes and the new model of state-funded research administration were introduced as one of the major achievements of the “Research Administration Advancement Project.”
Next, the “concentration of common administrative functions”, “the reduced administrative burden for researchers”, and “administrative efficiency’” were introduced as major items of the agenda, and the current status and direction of each item were discussed in turn.
KISDI plans to continue holding the Open Academy from 2020 onwards in order to respond proactively to economic and social changes and to identify and formulate policies.
