The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kwon Ho-yeol) signed a business agreement to revitalize ICT policy research in the Gangwon region and nationwide with the Research Institute for Gangwon (RIG) at the latter’s premises on May 26.
The Research Institute for Gangwon conducts research aimed at analyzing and resolving policy and social issues related to regional development by identifying the future policy agenda items of Gangwon-do, such as establishing a mid- to long-term development plan, improving local administrative systems, and responding proactively to government policies.
This agreement addresses the need to revitalize research in the field of information and communication in Gangwon-do, to revitalize research related to ICT and broadcasting and communication, and to engage in exchanges of research personnel, technology, and information.
KISDI President Kwon Ho-yeol declared, “Recently, not only state-led research but also ICT research led by local governments has become very important. As such, this agreement will unite the respective capabilities of KISDI and RIG as a first step toward revitalizing the local ICT industry.”
