On June 10 (Monday), the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kim Dae-hui) hosted the 4th KISDI colloquium of 2019 at the mid-sized conference room on the 2nd floor of KISDI’s main building.

President Kim Chang-yong of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) is an IT industry expert who formerly headed the Future Technology Institute at the Samsung Electronics Advanced Institute of Technology, the Digital Media & Communications (DMC) R&D Center, and the 3D Fusion Industry Association. In his lecture, he talked about the size of the global AI market and that of affiliated markets, the areas of growth that 5G technologies could enable, and the AI growth policies of major countries.

In addition, he discussed the AI industry development strategies of NIPA, delving into its policies for supporting the AI industry. In the latter part of his lecture he aired his views on how NIPA and KISDI could cooperate in the future.

In 2019, KISDI will continue to hold such colloquiums to respond to issues and develop policies for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
