On March 27 (Wednesday) at 4pm, the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kim Dae-hui) held a conference with a delegation from the 2018/2019 Tanzania KSP project at the video presentation room on the 2nd floor of the KISDI office in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do Province.
This conference was attended by twelve Tanzanian civil servants who specialize in IT, including Mr. Jabiri Bakari Kuwe from Tanzania’s e-Government Agency and Dr. Goodiel Charles Moshi from the University of Dodoma, country specialists working in Tanzania, and KDI researchers participating in the KSP project. Presently, Tanzania is conducting research on how to support e-government R&D and innovations. During their visit to e-government and ICT related organizations in South Korea, the Tanzanian delegation wanted to learn about our experiences and know-how in making policies on e-government. Their visit to KISDI was part of their itinerary.
The Tanzanian delegation was welcomed by head researcher Kang Ha-yeon from the Center for ICT Trade·South & North Korea ICT Cooperation Research in KISDI’s Department of International Cooperation Research. She explained to the delegation the history of each department at KISDI and what kind of research each one is currently undertaking. Next, senior researcher Yoo Seong-hoon gave an overview of KISDI’s international development cooperation projects and introduced their major milestones.
In the following Q&A session, the Tanzanian delegation expressed keen interest in KISDI’s operations, financing, investment, research procedures, and research output. Head researcher Kang Ha-yeon answered all the questions using specific cases.
