On March 18 (Monday), the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kim Dae-hui) hosted the 2nd KISDI colloquium of 2019 at the mid-sized conference room on the 2nd floor of the KISDI’s main building.
Intended as a forum for sharing and discussing global key trends and forecasts, this KISDI colloquium was moderated by PhD researchers from KISDI who gave lively accounts of what they saw at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and the 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
First, at the CES 2019 (review given by Associate Research Fellow Kim Min-hui), visitors were able to learn about the trends, convergences and developments in new technologies that will enable future industries – technologies such as 5G, mobility, next-generation displays, robots, smart homes, and voice recognition.
Next, at the MWC 2019 (review given by Associate Research Fellow Jeong Kwang-jae), visitors shared information about this year’s theme and the latest developments in foldable phones, VR, AR, Robot, and 5G services. In doing so, the event served as an opportunity for the participants to think together about domestic ICT policies which could address the global trend of CPND intra-ecosystem cooperation.
In 2019, KISDI will continue to hold such colloquiums to respond to issues and develop policies for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
