On March 4 (Monday), the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kim Dae-hui) hosted the 1st KISDI colloquium of 2019 at the large conference hall on the 1st floor of KISDI’s main building.

As a public agency working to lead the country in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, KISDI organized this colloquium to kick off discussion about what kind of human talents will be needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

President Yang Hyang-ja of the National Human Resources Development Institute, who was invited to speak as the guest lecturer, formerly worked for Samsung as an executive of the Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Memory Division and was the first President of the Gwangju Future Industrial Strategy Research Institute.

At the KISDI colloquium, President Yang gave a talk on the pace of technological development and industry, based on her experience working for Samsung Electronics Semiconductor. She described how boundaries between competitors were crumbling and explained what she considered to be the ideal human talent and the qualities a researcher must possess in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In 2019, KISDI will continue to hold such colloquiums to respond to issues and develop policies for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
