KISDI held the awards ceremony for the 2024 Public Ideas Contest to Discover New Programs on June 8.

- KISDI selected six winners at the 2024 Public Ideas Contest for Discovering New Programs: One winner of the Best Award, two winners of the Excellence Award, and three winners of the Encouragement Award.
This year's first contest aims to improve policy appropriateness by strengthening communication with the public.

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held an awards ceremony for the 2024 Ideas Contest to Discover New Programs at its Gangnam Smart Work Center on June 8.

Earlier, KISDI held a policy research ideas contest for the general public from March 30 to April 14 in order to collect fresh ideas related to the digital economy and society, ICT data science, communications and radio waves, broadcasting and media, and ICT international cooperation.

The judges evaluated the timeliness of the research topics and tasks which made a significant policy contribution and selected one winner for the Grand Prize Award, two for the Excellence Award, and three for the Encouragement Award.

The winner of the Grand Prize Award was ▲“Contemplation of copyright issues in generative AI such as ChatGPT”.
The winners of the Excellence Award were ▲“Development of model provisions for international cooperation in AI” and ▲“Is there a gender gap in platform jobs in the digital transition era?”
The winners of the Encouragement Awards were ▲“ICT ODA implementation performance and strategic challenges in the post-COVID era”, ▲“Establishment of a system for analyzing the effectiveness of policies aimed at revitalizing the digital economy”, and ▲“A study on response strategies of paid broadcasting platforms and broadcasting channel utilization businesses in the OTT era.”

The contest was launched this year in a bid to increase policy appropriateness by communicating with the public and collecting opinions. KISDI plans to use the contest to discuss new research programs with the general public and to reflect its findings in the selection of future programs.
