The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held the KISDI and Alibaba Cloud Forum on Smart City at the Alibaba Olympic Pavilion in Gangrueng Olympic Park on February 12.

This event was an opportunity for introducing the smart city and big data technologies and networking between KISDI as the leading global institute in ICT policy research for the intelligent information society and Alibaba Cloud, which boasts of smart city brain platforms in regions such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, Macau, and Malaysia.

It consisted of two sessions: ▲ introduction of the smart city mechanism and Alibaba’s smart city strategy, and ▲ free discussion between KISDI and Alibaba Cloud.

KISDI and Alibaba Cloud each presented the current business status and strategic measures in session 1 and had a free discussion on the direction, strategy, and cooperative measures related to the smart city.

"KISDI is actively participating in future industries to be ready for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and it is meaningful that we are cooperating with platform company Alibaba for the smart city,” said Kim Dae-hee, president of KISDI.
According to Leo Rio, president of Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba is carrying out various applications such as transport, travel, and medicine related to the smart city in regions like Hangzhou, Suzhou, Macau, and Malaysia, and it plans to strengthen the cooperation with KISDI for establishing the smart city model utilizing ICT.

The forum was an opportunity for KISDI and Alibaba Cloud, a smart city brain platform developer, to strengthen cooperation in smart city research.
