KISDI Participates in the “Relay Campaign for Raising Awareness of Population Issues”
President Sangkyu Rhee of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) participated on May 26 in the “Relay Campaign for Raising Awareness of Population Issues,” jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare.
The campaign, launched in October last year, is a public-participation relay initiative aimed at raising social awareness and interest in population-related challenges such as population decline, low birth rates, and aging.
President Rhee joined the campaign upon the nomination of Yoonkyu Park, President of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and in turn nominated Jiwoong Yoon, President of the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and Namhoon Kwon, President of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET), as the next participants.
President Rhee stated, “Demographic changes are factors that can have a profound impact on the ICT industry. Recognizing these changes deeply, we will continue our research and make every effort to ensure that the ICT industry moves in a positive direction.”
