The Korea Information Society Development Institute (President Bae Kyoung-Yul) hosted a "Digital Camp with Chungbuk Region Students" on May 2, 2024, at the Handure Rural Experience Village (Neowaduri Camping Site) in Okcheon, Chungbuk, as part of its efforts to promote co-prosperity and ESG management in areas facing population decline.
The digital camp targeted 20 fifth and sixth graders from Samyang Elementary School in Okcheon, Chungbuk, providing diverse perspectives on the ICT field and allowing the children to participate in projects through experiential programs involving metaverse and drones.
One student, who participated in a virtual reality practice related to the metaverse, commented, "I want to create more using the CoSpaces app. I'm very glad to have had such a great opportunity, and I would definitely like to participate again if given the chance."
This KISDI event was held at a village campground, allowing elementary school students to freely enjoy themselves. The digital camp, linked with ICT, not only provided the students with opportunities for digital experiences but also promoted co-prosperity and development in areas with declining populations, further enhancing the significance of the event.
In the era of digital transformation, the Korea Information Society Development Institute, a leader in ICT and broadcasting policy research, is committed to pursuing social values such as community development, in addition to supporting the formulation of national policies.
